My name is Nigeria Brooks, and I am the Lead Teacher at Quality Classroom Childcare. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. My mom Winter Reynolds has been a licensed childcare provider for twenty-one years. She birthed her childcare business because of me. At birth I weighed two pounds and fifteen ounces. I grew up in a childcare home setting. My passion and love for children sparked at a very young age. Before pursuing my career, I started working alongside my mom Winter Reynolds at fifteen years old. I was a teacher assistant and worked in the childcare business for three years before going to college. As time went on, I developed a deep love for children and decided to pursue Early Childhood Education as my career in college. I graduated with my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2022. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at St. Augustine College in Chicago, IL. I will be graduating from St. Augustine College with my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in May 2024. Being a childcare provider is such an honor. I love being surrounded by children. They brighten up my days, they make me remember my purpose here on earth. Which is to educate and sharpen their minds so that they can be their best selves in school and beyond. Who would have thought that me being my mother’s reason for starting her childcare business would position me into now being the lead teacher of our childcare business?
